A fire broke out in a barn on River Road just west of Bucyrus on Saturday afternoon.

The building, belonging to Jim and Jeanne Thompson at 1200 River Road, was completely destroyed by the fire but damage to the adjoining house was limited to the exterior on just one side of the house.

Firefighters from the Bucyrus Township and Holmes Township volunteer fire departments responded to the call and battled the blaze. There were no injuries reported. No information has been made available as to the cause of the fire or the estimated loss.
