Bucyrus man charged with Reckless Homicide in Wednesday morning shooting

BUCYRUS—The Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bucyrus Police Department announces the filing of a Reckless Homicide charge against Anthony J. Morgan, 52, of 627 W. Mansfield Street, Bucyrus; following the tragic shooting death of his wife, Jennifer Morgan, 49, also of Bucyrus.  The couple resided at the Mansfield St. address where the shooting took place.

According to the preliminary investigation, Mr. Morgan recklessly discharged his firearm one (1) time striking his wife in the head.  Mrs. Morgan was pronounced dead at Avita – Bucyrus Community Hospital.

The Prosecutor’s Office and the Bucyrus Police Department diligently continues investigating this case, with the assistance of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office – Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and both the Crawford and Lucas County Coroners’ Offices.  Anyone with information they feel is important to the investigation is encouraged to contact Detectives Tracy Keegan or Jamie Carver at the Bucyrus Police Department, at (419) 562-1006.
