Bucyrus Police arrested man on multiple charges

BUCYRUS—A Bucyrus man was arrested on multiple charges during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

At 1:47 a.m., Cody Gatchel, 25, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to comply and driving under suspension.

He was issued a citation and taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for possible additional charges.

7:19 a.m.-A West Warren Street resident reported their home broken into. Nothing was reported missing.

9:43 a.m.-Officers spoke with a Clay Street resident regarding a domestic problem.

10:55 a.m.-A Bucyrus Plaza resident was warned against trespassing.

10:58 a.m.-A property owner reported his property on Wingert Street broken into. He advised tools were missing from the residence.

1:00 p.m.-Officers investigated two open line 911 calls in the 200 block of West Charles Street. A child had dialed the calls.

1:42 p.m.-A report of a vehicle hit overnight while parked in the 200 block of West Warren Street was taken.

1:52 p.m.-Officers investigated a report of possible child abuse in the 1600 block of Marion Road.

3:37 p.m.- Officers spoke to an unruly juvenile at the police department.

3:47 p.m.- A 911 hang-up call was investigated in the 800 block of South Spring Street.

4:18 p.m.- Joshua Stillwell was arrested in the 100 block of West Mansfield Street on a charge of menacing by stalking. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released.

6:35 p.m.- Officers assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol with searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-skip accident.

6:46 p.m.- Officers assisted Crawford County Sheriffs’ Department in the 400 block of W. Warren St.

6:54 p.m.- A report of two children playing near the railroad tracks on East Warren Street was made.

6:57 p.m.-A vandalism was reported in the 200 block of East Mansfield Street.

10:49 p.m.-Julie Ashbrook, 54, was arrested on a Morrow County warrant. She was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to await relay to Morrow County.

10:59 p.m.-A report of a customer causing problems at Hymiler was investigated. The person had left before officers arrived.

11:31 p.m.-Officers assisted an Ohio State Patrol trooper on a traffic stop in the area of Marion Road and Beal Avenue.

12:06 a.m.-A verbal warning for loud music was issued in the 1300 block of Monnett Street.

1:25 a.m.-A report of an erratic driver in the 600 block of South Sandusky Avenue was investigated.

4:41 a.m.-A report of suspicious people in the Southern Lights Shopping Center parking lot was investigated.

7:31 a.m.-Officers investigated a report of a break-in at the old movie theatre in the Southern Lights Shopping Center area.

10:27 a.m.-Officers investigated a report of a breaking and entering to a garage in the 900 block of Failor Avenue.

11:11 a.m.-A report of someone dumping trash on the property of a resident in the 200 block of West Galen Street was investigated.

11:29 a.m.-Officers investigated a report of stolen medication in the 1200 block of Monnett Street.

3:30  p.m.-Officers conducted a welfare check in the 200 block of North Sandusky Avenue.

5:55  p.m.-Officers investigated a disturbance in the 900 block of Hull Avenue.

6:43 p.m.- A parking complaint was investigated in the 400 block of Emerson Street.

7:00 p.m.- A 911 hang-up call was investigated in the 1300 block of North Sandusky Avenue.

7:24 p.m.- A domestic dispute was investigated in the 600 block of Hill Street.

7:38 p.m.- A domestic dispute was investigated in the 1600 block of Marion Road.

7:47 p.m.- A disturbance was investigated in the area of Bucyrus Plaza.

8:13 p.m.- A report of possible vandalism was investigated in the 200 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

8:23 p.m.- Officers assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office in the area of Sears and West Perry Streets.

9:10 p.m.- Officers assisted the Bucyrus Fire Department in the 1300 block of Marion Road.

9:10 p.m.- A traffic citation was issued in the 700 block of West Perry Street.

10:19 p.m.- A traffic complaint was made in the 900 block of East Mansfield Street.

10:21 p.m.- Officers assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office in the 700 block of West Mary Street.

10:24 p.m.- A report of possible shots fired in the 500 block of Wedgewood Court was investigated.

10:50 p.m.-A report of a group of kids throwing things at people in the Hymiler parking lot was investigated. A 12-year-old Bucyrus boy was picked up for being out past curfew. He was released to his mother pending charges through Juvenile Court. Riley Pritchard, 23, was arrested on a charge of open container while out with the juveniles.

11:28 p.m.-An employee at Circle K reported being harassed by someone he knows while working.

11:33 p.m.-A report of fireworks in the 800 block of Dudley Street was investigated.

11:35 p.m.-A resident in the 700 block of Beverly Drive reported finding a box with threats written on it on her porch.

11:54 p.m.-A report of a possible intoxicated driver was investigated in the 400 block of North Sandusky Avenue.

11:59 p.m.-A report of fireworks at Bucyrus Plaza was investigated.

12:17 a.m.-A report of a verbal domestic disturbance was investigated in the 1100 block of Hopley Avenue.

12:25 a.m.-A disturbance between neighbors was investigated in the 800 block of West Mary Street.

1:14 a.m.-Officers assisted a Crawford County deputy on a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Sandusky Avenue.

1:41 a.m.-A report of an erratic driver on Heritage Circle was investigated.

1:48 a.m.-A verbal warning for loud music was issued in the 800 block of South Poplar Street.

2:03 a.m.-Officers investigated a fight in City Lot 3. No one wished to make a report and all parties left the area.

3:21 a.m.-A report of a suspicious person in the 400 block of South Walnut Street was investigated.

3:23 a.m.-Officers checked a residence in the 400 block of Charlotte Street after the resident thought there were people in the back yard. No one was located in the area.

4:28 a.m.-Officers checked the welfare of a person in the area of South East Street and East Oakwood Avenue.

11:23 a.m.-Officers checked the 1700 block of Marion Road after a 911 hang-up call in that area.

12:25 p.m.-Officers checked on a man that was reportedly passed out in the grass off of Lutz Drive.  He advised he was taking a nap.

12:29 p.m.-Officers investigated a two car non-injury accident on Swigart Street at the alleyway.

3:38 p.m.-A welfare check was requested in the Pinewood Court area.

3:53 p.m.-A traffic stop was conducted in the East Mansfield Street area.

3:55 p.m.-Officers were requested to assist with a disorderly person in the 600 block of North Sandusky Avenue.

5:18 p.m.-A commercial alarm in the 800 block of Hopley Avenue was investigated.

6:24 p.m.-Brittany Black, 24, was arrested in the 1500 block of North Sandusky Avenue. She was given a court date and released.

11:19 p.m.-A verbal domestic disturbance was investigated in the 600 block of North Sandusky Avenue.

11:39 p.m.-A bicycle found abandoned in the middle of the road on East Warren Street was brought to the police department for safekeeping.

12:27 a.m.-Officers checked a vacant house on North Walnut Street after a neighbor thought someone was inside. There was no one there when officers checked the residence.

5:00 a.m.-An employee of Katering Kountry Style reported someone trespassing on the property. The person was sent on his way.
