Colonel Crawford welcomes new leadership and sets the stage for the upcoming schoolyear

NORTH ROBINSON, OHIO (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — On Monday night, the new superintendent, Mike Voll, stepped into his new role to run Colonel Crawford’s August board meeting.

To begin the meeting, the board president, Norm Huber, welcomed Voll with a short speech. “We want to thank you for stepping up and taking this challenge on. I think you will do a fantastic job.”

Voll has served as the high school principal for the past two school years and is beginning his thirtieth year in education and eighth in administration.

Voll welcomed the new high school principal, Brian Brown, who is entering his thirty-fifth year in education. Brown served as the principal at Clear Fork High School for seventeen years before coming to Colonel Crawford.

In the business portion of the meeting, it was announced that there would be an open house after next month’s board meeting from 7:30 to 8:30 for the school’s new auxiliary gym.

Ticket prices were set for the ’24-’25 school year. For varsity events, adult tickets are eight dollars and student tickets are seven dollars. JV, freshman, and junior high events are six dollars for adults and five dollars for students.

The board approved an agreement for streaming services for live and on-demand with WMFD for high school sports beginning with the 2024-2025 season.

The retire-rehire of long-term teachers, Rebecca Beck and Mary Lyons, was approved.

The board also approved an MOU with Third Street Family Health Services/Community Counseling for the upcoming school year.

Another MOU was approved with Hocking College for College Credit Plus classes for the school year. The district offers college classes through Hocking College and North Central State Community College.

The next board meeting is September 16 at 7 p.m.
