Galion Police investigate large fight, two people arrested

GALIONꟷA report of a large fight involving at least 30 people in the 400 block of Libby Lane was investigated early Saturday morning and ended with two people being arrested.

Galion Police responded to the call at 2:55 a.m. Saturday and arrested Kalib M. Kitwana, 19, Ontario, on a warrant from Bowling Green. He was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to hold for Bowling Green authorities.

Kyree L. Norman, 21, Galion, was also arrested on a warrant. She was issued a court date on the warrant from the Lexington Police Department.

12:09 a.m.-The K-9 unit assisted the Crestline Police Department.

12:44 a.m.-A welfare check was conducted in the 1100 block of East Walnut Street.

6:27 a.m.-A report of a suspicious person in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue was investigated.

11:07 a.m.-A report of a suspicious man knocking on a resident’s door in the 400 block of Third Avenue and stating that he is from Gutter Guard was investigated.

4:17 p.m.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 600 block of South Union Street.

6:36 p.m.-A report of a vehicle hitting a tree and landing on its top was investigated in the 900 block of South Market Street. The driver was injured and EMS personnel the person to the hospital. The Ohio State Patrol assisted at the scene and Ronk’s Towing Service removed the vehicle from the area. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

11:19 p.m.-A report of loud music was investigated in the 300 block of Dawsett Avenue.

1:34 a.m.-A report of a missing juvenile was investigated in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue. The juvenile later was returned home.

7:18 a.m.-A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was investigated in the East Church Street area. One vehicle involved in the crash was towed from the scene by Ronk’s Towing Service while the other was driven away from the area. A citation will be issued to one of the motorists at a later date.

10:27 a.m.-A 911 open line call was investigated in the 400 block of Libby Lane. Bryan Shick was issued a court date on a Marion County warrant.

11:11 a.m.-A Mardo Lane resident reported vandalism to their residence.

12:23 p.m.-A report of an assault and theft was taken from a South Market Street resident. Officers contacted Morrow County authorities to arrest the suspect involved and hold him for Crawford County authorities.

2:59 p.m.-A West Atwood Street resident reported a juvenile as a runaway. The juvenile was reportedly at a residence in Bucyrus. Bucyrus Police assisted in attempting to locate the juvenile.

3:28 p.m.-A dispute between neighbors was investigated in the 400 block of South Union Street. Both parties agreed to stay away from each other.

3:49 p.m.-A domestic dispute inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Dollar General was investigated. Michaela Lawson was told to contact Crawford County Common Pleas Court on an active warrant.

7:14 p.m.-A parking complaint was investigated in the 300 block of East Parson Street.

1:47 a.m.-A report of an impaired driver at Taco Bell was investigated. Two people were released to another person after being issued warnings for disorderly conduct.

11:12 a.m.-A Portland Way North resident reported clothing stolen from a dryer.

4:41 p.m.-A report of a possible fire in the Glendale Boulevard area was investigated by police and the fire department.

6:28 p.m.-A report of a man shoveling stone from a construction site to his driveway was investigated in the 800 block of Charles Street. The man claimed to have permission and officers are checking with the construction company. The man, Scotty D. Sharrock, 34, Galion, was advised to contact the Dublin Police Department in regards to an active warrant.

8:54 p.m.-A Grove Avenue resident reported being threatened by people they know.

9:08 p.m.-An open line 911 call was investigated. The person was warned about misuse of 911 after accidentally dialing on several occasions.

11:40 p.m.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 100 block of Portland Way North. A man was issued a court date on a Marion County warrant and the female was arrested on a Richland County warrant and taken to jail.
