Galion Police issue two citations after two-vehicle crash

GALION―A non-injury accident at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening ended with two people being issued citations by Galion Police.

The two-vehicle crash occurred in the 1200 block of Ohio 598. Ryan L. Hughes was issued a citation for driving under suspension and the other driver involved, Nathaniel Thornton, was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead. Ronk’s Towing assisted at the scene.

7:26 a.m.-A citation for speeding was issued to Jared O. Thew in the Heise Park area.

10:31 a.m.-A South Pierce Street resident reported several items stolen from their residence by someone they know.

7:25 p.m.-Officers assisted a Crawford County Probation officer in the 700 block of South Street.

7:41 p.m.-A ring found in the lobby of the city building was turned over to police.

7:52 p.m.-A disturbance in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue was investigated.

1:03 a.m.- Cherokee Watkins was issued a citation for driving under suspension in the 300 block of South Street.

1:49 a.m.-A report of a domestic dispute was investigated in the 100 block of Harding Way West. Angela Vandergriff was arrested then taken to Galion Community Hospital for treatment.

9:12 a.m.-A report of a domestic issue was investigated in the 900 block of Charles Street.

9:42 a.m.-A non-injury accident was investigated in the 200 block of Portland Way North and a citation was issued to one of the motorists.

2:03 p.m.-A report of an assault was investigated in the East Walnut Street area.

5:08 p.m.-A report of a breaking and entering in the 900 block of Smith Street was investigated.

5:43 p.m.-A report of a man slumped over in a vehicle in the 200 block of Harding Way West was investigated. A citation was issued to Richard Holland for no operator’s license and the vehicle he was driving was towed from the scene by Hensley Towing.

9:40 p.m.-Officers assisted with an unruly patient at Galion Community Hospital.

9:08 a.m.-A report of an unruly juvenile was investigated in the 300 block of Fairview Avenue.

9:42 am.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 100 block of Carmel Avenue. Robyn L. Miner was arrested for domestic violence.

12:17 p.m.-A report of a student at Galion High School in possession of vape was investigated.

12:42 p.m.-A welfare check was conducted in the 400 block of Harding Way West.

12:46 p.m.-A welfare check was conducted in the 300 block of Seventh Avenue and the person was fine.

1:12 p.m.-A non-injury accident was investigated on Harding Way West at Portland Way North.

9:48 p.m.-A report of two people walking down the street with a large speaker playing loud music was investigated in the 400 block of Harding Way East. The two males were issued verbal warnings.

10:40 p.m.-A parking citation was issued in the 300 block of North Market Street.
