COLUMBUS – Committee assignments were announced on Friday for the 134th General Assembly and local Representative Riordan McClain (R – Upper Sandusky) was assigned to three standing committees:

•              Infrastructure and Rural Development

•              Transportation and Public Safety (Vice-Chair)

•              Ways and Means

McClain will continue his service as Vice-Chair of the Transportation and Public Safety Committee.

I am very thankful for the committee assignments given by Speaker Bob Cupp and will continue to work hard on the difficult tasks ahead. Rural Ohio has been negatively impacted by the devastation of this past year and good policy decisions will be vital to our full recovery,” McClain said. “We are overdue to get to work this year and I look forward to doing so alongside the talented local leaders we have throughout District 87.”

McClain is serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 87th District, which includes all of Crawford, Morrow, and Wyandot counties, as well as portions of Marion and Seneca counties.

The 134th General Assembly will convene over calendar years 2021-2022. The bulk of legislative work occurs through the committee process where bills are discussed at length and debated. Citizens are encouraged to provide testimony in person or to submit written testimony for legislation. Committee schedules and legislation can be found online at legislature.ohio.gov.

Rep. McClain can be reached at rep87@ohiohouse.gov or by calling 614-644-6265.
