MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State University at Marion is excited to announce the addition of Chris Deel to their administrative staff. Deel will serve as the executive administrative assistant to the campus dean and director, associate dean, and assistant dean.

In her new role, Deel will manage administrative calendars, coordinate meetings, organize events, and oversee various operations within the Dean’s suite. She will also collaborate with Ohio State Marion Director of Development and Community Relations, Cathy Gerber, to support strategic initiatives within advancement.

Deel brings over 30 years of experience as an administrative professional, including 14.5 years at The Ohio State University. Previously, she served as a program coordinator in the Office of Advancement on the Columbus campus, supporting two assistant vice presidents and an associate vice president. Deel has held various positions such as executive assistant and secretary, consistently finding fulfillment in the administrative function.

“I take great pride in my career path,” said Deel. “Especially in choosing the administrative profession and building a strong network of partnerships at various levels of leadership.”

Deel emphasized her commitment to continuous learning and creative problem-solving, noting that her diverse experiences in the corporate sector have enriched her current role. She approaches each day with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence.

Currently, Deel serves as President of The Ohio State University Administrative Professionals (OSUAP). As part of the OSUAP executive team, she participates in the Advancement Innovation Experience, focusing on employee engagement and belonging.

A resident of Delaware, Ohio, Deel has been married to her husband Mike for 33 years. The couple enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations, with recent trips to Bangor, Maine, and Alaska. Future travel plans include exploring more states and venturing overseas.
