ONTARIO, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Emergency crews responded to a devastating house explosion at the intersection of Route 314 and Hook Road on Friday afternoon, resulting in the loss of one life and injuries to two others.

The explosion completely destroyed the home, creating a large debris field that made it challenging for first responders to navigate the scene.

After firefighters arrived, they discovered that 47-year-old Krista Cramer of Lexington had died in the blast. She was found in the basement. One of the surviving victims, a man, was also found in the basement covered in debris. He was flown to a medical center in Columbus.

The other injured individual, a woman who was one of the owners, was outside the home and was transported to a hospital in Mansfield. She was outside walking their dog when the explosion happened.

The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation by the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office.
