GALION—A fatal accident on State Route 309 near the railroad tracks this morning is under investigation.

The county has requested Portland Way South be closed to through traffic until their investigation can be completed. Railroad Street will also be inaccessible.

Residents will need to use County Line Road as an alternate route. The detour is expected to be in place until noon.
