Sheriff’s office investigates two-car injury crash

BUCYRUS―Several people were treated for injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon a shortly before 4 p.m. near the intersection of Ned Drive and Stetzer Road.

According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Rebecca J. Kiess, 33, New Washington, was traveling east on Stetzer Road in a white 2015 Dodge Ram pick-up truck when she veered left of center, striking a black 2014 Ford Escape before hitting a Sprint telephone pole and causing damage to a nearby yard. The Ford was driven by Brenda S. Moses, 58, Arcadia, Ohio. Her passengers were identified as her husband Ronald L. Moses, 59, and Charles W. and Violet I. Butler, both 85 years old, from Bucyrus. They were treated for minor injuries at the scene by EMS personnel from Portsmouth Ambulance Service and the Whetstone Township Fire Department.

Kiess was issued a traffic citation for a marked lane violation. Carl’s Towing removed both vehicles from the scene.
