But what exactly are the northern lights? At their core, they are a celestial dance orchestrated by nature itself. The scientific explanation reveals that electrically charged particles from the sun, known as solar wind, collide with Earth’s magnetic field. This collision sets off a chain reaction, causing the particles to interact with gases in the Earth’s atmosphere, creating a breathtaking display of light.
