Bucyrus firefighters did not get the holiday weekend off as they battled a house fire during the early morning hours on Monday.

bucyrus fire 09.01.14 bThe Bucyrus Fire Department indicated this morning (Tuesday) that the report was not yet complete regarding the blaze in the 800 block of East Rensselaer Street. A firefighter did say he believed the home was not occupied at the time of the fire. He also could not say who owns the property.

The fire caused an estimated $65,000 worth of damages to the property but the cause is still unknown. The fire remains under investigation.
