CRESTLINE — Crestline Village Council met for its regular council meeting Monday evening at Crestline Village Hall.

According to Village Administrator John Rostash, village hall now is open again but employees are wearing masks when they are not in their individual offices.

“We are limiting the number of people to 10 in the lobby and common areas,” Rostash reported to council. “We have added an acrylic sneeze guard to our service counter. Also, our team members will be wearing masks or other face covering and practicing social distancing while working with the public.”

During Rostash’s report to council, he released the following information:

Main Street Waterline

Buckeye Excavating will be working on final punch-list items for the Main Street Waterline Replacement Project. They will also be milling and paving the trench areas this week.

Cross Street Sidewalk Replacement Project Update

Ohio Regional Development Corporation is the consultant that is administering the Program Year 2019, Community Development Block Grant. Crestline submitted three projects for the program and ORDC selected the Cross Street Sidewalk Replacement. ORDC selected Thrasher Group, by bid, as the design-build architect. The Thrasher Group is a large firm with an office in Canton, Ohio. They provide service across a wide range of disciplines such as architecture, civil engineering, construction, environmental, utilities engineering, and transportation. I will be meeting with representatives from the Thrasher Group and ORDC later this week to discuss the project.

Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System Improvements

Prime AE Group is finalizing the Preliminary Engineering Report for submission to the Administration and Council for review. Once approved, the report will be sent to the Ohio EPA for their approval as well. Part of this report will be a program to remove down spouts from the sanitary sewer system to remove stormwater. This program will be extremely important to Crestline’s future growth. For every one downspout that is removed, Crestline will receive a credit toward expansion of the sanitary sewer system.

Property Maintenance & Vacant Property Registrations

Now that our team is wrapping up some time-consuming projects, we will be refocusing our efforts on the Property Maintenance Program and implementing the Vacant Property Registration Program. Our team is committed to fighting trash and blighted properties in Crestline and creating a better community for our residents.
